A gorgeous and interesting Spanish red, grown in chalky and stony soils, which are poor in nutrients and low yielding. This is the ideal climate for the Monastrell variety, which is known as Mourvedre in France. This wine has been aged for 12 months in French oak barrels and has a very dark purple/ cherry color and powerful aromas of red berries. Smokey notes are complemented by soft tannins. This wine is very lovely to drink and is pleasing to most palates! This winery is located in the highest point of Jumilla and was founded in 1916 by Juan Gil Giménez, the great-grandfather of the present generation, which carries forth his legacy. This region in Spain has been growing wine for centuries and yields grapes of extraordinary quality.
