Caymus traditionally harvests its grapes on the (very) late side and prides itself on refined, velvety mature tannins that frame a decadent core of rich cocoa powder and vanilla-infused plum-berry fruit. And our evaluation of the 2023 revealed just that: a classic Caymus Cab with a round, plush texture and tons and tons of flavor. The bouquet is a lively mélange of plum compote, chocolate, Kirsch and vanilla bean, and the palate has an easy-to-love softness that neatly hides some real tannins and good acidity.
