Winemaker NotesChâteau d'Auvernier is perched on the shores of Lake Neuchâtel, Switzerland, cultivating 60 hectares of vineyard of light to medium limestone soil. Geologically similar to the French Burgundy terroir, although located a little further south, it benefits from the lake's proximity, which moderates temperatures, compensating for the higher altitude of around 100 meters compared to its French cousin.Château d’Auvernier is a family wine business that was founded in 1603. The current owner, Thierry Grosjean represents the 14th generation; his son Henry is taking over. The Caves du Château d’Auvernier owns 26 hectares of vineyards, cultivates 46, and buys 16 additional hectares from winegrowers that are in the business since many generations this is an unfiltered Chessalas Fendant Wine with sur-lie, the wine is fresh, savory with a citrusy palate of grapefruit.Pair with with a fresh salad, seafood or the classic raclette dishes.
